Chubby and Dumpling, two kitties with CH

Chubby plays with his sister…

Chubby and Dumpling were born with CH (Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia), a neurological condition affecting their balance—but these two “wobbly kitties” don’t let it slow them down!

Little orange Chubby loves to pounce on bits of fluff, and when he face-plants he doesn’t seem to mind. He staggers, flops, and happily explores. He’s a determined kitten!

Chubby’s sister Dumpling is 100% sweetheart. She has more difficulty walking, so she prefers to sit cuddled in your arms and observe the world around her. She purrs a lot and carefully grooms her tiny paws. Whenever her foster mom enters the room, Dumpling meows “hello” and eagerly half-rolls, half-crawls over to greet her.

Even though Chubby and Dumpling won’t be able to walk and run like other kitties, they can still live long, happy lives. We’re hoping they can find someone who will love them just as they are, wobbles and all!

Adoption: Dumpling and Chubby are currently in foster care and will be available for adoption as soon as they are big enough to be spayed and neutered. In the meantime, to learn more about adopting them, you can email

  1. Hi Carol,
These two look too adorable! Hope you adopted them. I have 2 CH kitties myself. A brother and sister named Carmy and Gigi. Carmy is a moderate-severe and Gigi is moderate.
I’ve never been happier than to have adopted them.

    • Hi Carol, thanks for checking in! Chubby and Dumpling did indeed find homes. We agree – CH kitties are pretty special!

  2. Good Afternoon. My name is Carol, my daughters and I are looking for a forever friend or two. I am looking for emotional state support animals. These two little lovelies would fit perfectly into our home. When would they be ready to adopt? Are many people looking to adopt them?
Thank you for answering my questions,
    Carol Braun

    • Hi Carol, Thanks for your interest in Chubby and Dumpling! They’re having their spay/neuter surgeries this week. If all goes well, they’ll be available for adoption when we open at noon on Friday. If you have your heart set on a specific kitten, it’s always best to be here right at opening or even beforehand so that your kitties don’t find a home before you arrive. If you email, one of our adoption counselors can give you more info about CH and help you decide if Chubby and Dumpling would be a good fit for your household!
