Volunteer of the Month: Jeffrey

December 2025

Meet Jeffrey

Santa’s sleigh may deliver presents once a year, but Jeffrey brings gifts to pets in need twice a month as SAFe’s Amazon warehouse delivery driver! For over two years, Jeffrey has been transporting Amazon donations to SAFe’s Stay SAFe Pet Pantry. His contributions keep our shelves stocked with pet food and supplies for our neighbors, ensuring access to care for animals across our community.

His SAFe Experience

“Volunteering makes me feel I’m making a small but material difference in this small part of the world for the better,” Jeffrey says. “Volunteering is the best way to be the change you want to see.”

Besides the morale boost, delivery driving has given Jeffrey some practical insights.

“I got the chance to learn Seattle area’s traffic pattern inside out!” He says.

Though Jeffrey doesn’t work directly with onsite cats, he still makes a point to admire them when he can, whether it’s a visit to the adoption center or admiring pictures of adoptable cats online.

“You got great photographers,” Jeffrey told us (shout-out to previous volunteers of the month!) “The photos totally baited me into adopting cats.”

Jeffrey adds, “I adopted my two cats from SAFe, which by the way are objectively beyond a reasonable doubt the best cats in the world.”

Jeffrey took home Frida Catlo and Picatsso (now Winnie and Denali) in August 2024.

Outside of SAFe

Jeffrey keeps a packed schedule when he’s not volunteering! Hitting the gym, hiking the great outdoors, diving into a good book, and competition shooting keep him busy. Somehow, Jeffrey also finds time to do volunteer field work with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife! Next on his agenda is another passion project: testing his new car camping setup.

But of course, on top of Jeffrey’s list of hobbies is quality time with his cats!

Thank you, Jeffrey, for dedicating your time to supporting pets in our community!
