Winry (fka Hailey) spent the first three years of her life living outside in a cat colony in Central Washington. Though she had been spayed by a Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) partner of SAFe Rescue in 2022, it wasn’t until that partner returned in February 2024 that they realized just how much of a lovebug Winry was!
When this calico immediately approached for pets, it became clear that this was a kitty that wanted to be around people. It was later discovered that Winry’s former owner had passed away–all the more reason to find this sweetheart a loving family.
Winry was brought to SAFe for a medical check before going to adoption. Right away, we were smitten by this lovably round lady who wanted nothing more than to snuggle down on a cushion for pets.
It didn’t take long for a new family to fall in love with Winry too. After a mere three days onsite, this affectionate furball went home on February 24th, 2024.
Winry’s mom reported to us: “She is shy at first but gains confidence quickly, and is just a sweet, mellow girl. She’s very affectionate (loves getting kissed on the head more than anything) and has playful phases, but mostly she loves lounging in a cozy spot!”
Today, this former colony cat has settled into domestic bliss. There’s no soft surface she won’t curl up on, and she continues to melt hearts with her affinity for her people.
“She’s been a wonderful addition to our family,” says her mom. “We had a great experience at SAFe. Thank you for bringing Winry into our lives!”
