This week, the rescue felines got a very special visit from a local Brownie troop. The girls chose to come read to the rescue cats as part of a service project. They even brought some presents for the kitties from the rescue wishlist.
The socialization and attention was helpful for the kitties—and the Brownies got a chance to practice their reading skills!
As soon as her buddy started reading, rescue kitty Maggie lay down on her bed and settled in to enjoy the story.
Bosco tried to steal the show by meowing at all the young readers who would listen.
Sylvester loved his story, but wished he could cuddle with his reading buddy, too. He kept reaching out to her, and even ripped a page of her book by accident. (His reading buddy forgave him!)
After story time, the Scouts had a chance to take turns petting and brushing Sylvester, who LOVED the attention.
